Source: Siemens 'SITRANS F M MAG 8000 Modbus RTU — Operating Instructions', 08/2011, A5E03409989-01: section 5.3 Table 5-1 (communication parameters), A.2 measurement (2999-3011), A.3 driver settings (527-529 and product ID 78), A.5 sensor characteristics (205-253, 819), A.6 flow direction (399/400), A.7 pulse output A (372-374), A.8 service control (79, 360, 365), A.9 error messages (271/272). Addressing: each table prints 'MODBUS register' (e.g. 4:03000) and 'MODBUS address' (2999); the address column is used unchanged, so addressing = zero_based. 16-bit registers are big-endian as Modbus defines them. The manual states no word order for the 32-bit values and Modbus does not fix one, so the rows spanning two registers (3005, 3007, 3009, 242, 253, 79, 205, 207, 223, 225, 227, 116, 235, 238, 360, 374, 819) carry the conventional high word first (HighFirst, the schema default): if such a value disagrees with the local display, the word order is the thing to flip. Data bits: Table 7-1 gives Modbus over serial line v1.0 with RTU framing, which fixes 8 data bits. Factory frame from Table 5-1: device address 1, baud 19200, parity even with 1 stop bit. Deliberately omitted (a selection, not the whole map): the 64-bit totalizer block 3016/3020/3024; date rows (229, 3046, 362, 145/147/154, 3032); customer identifier/location 655/663; the meter access code 2007 that must be written before other parameters; status/settlement 143-158; excitation limit 47/237; interframe space and response delay 530/531; flow alarm limit 792; the coils (0 reset communication driver, 2 insulation alarm output enable, 15 coil current disable, 16 fixed flow mode enable); menu/display rows 233/401/405/221. Pulse output B is left out because the vendor table's byte/type columns drift between the A/B sub-tables.
